Audition information for Mendelssohn Choir of CT

The Mendelssohn Choir of Connecticut is a non-profit organization in Fairfield County open to any singer who can successfully audition.

Auditions are held on a rolling basis throughout the season, and are by appointment only. Prospective members should  complete our audition form online to arrange to sit in on one of our Tuesday evening rehearsals and audition afterwards. We would love to have you!

Mendelssohn Rehearsals are held annually in September and January

If you are interested in setting up an audition all year round, please complete the form below to let us know by feeling the form below. 
Audition Requirements:
  • Prepare a song of your choosing (2-3 minute maximum).
  • An accompanist will be provided (please bring sheet music).
  • Sight-singing, rhythm and vocal exercises.

Preferences will be given to singers that are able to commit for the complete season schedule.

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals are each Tuesday at St. Luke Church from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During the weeks leading to a performance, rehearsals begin at 7:00 p.m., and rehearsals may be added. All dress rehearsals are mandatory.

All singers are required to pay dues ($150 per year), purchase their music, concert folder, and concert attire (costs vary).
